Satisfying Your Tuition Obligations

Paying with Financial Aid:

The majority of Cumberland students are independent adults supporting themselves and their families, and financial aid makes it possible for them to complete their degrees. If you intend to apply for federal financial aid, please complete your FAFSA form at right away. Cumberland University’s FAFSA school code is 003485.

Tuition Reimbursement

Students with tuition reimbursement from their employer can defer tuition charges until the last day of class. Students must sign a promissory note with the Office of Financial Services stating they promise to pay, even if the employer does not.

Payment Plans:

Students may also divide their tuition into three equal cash payments due on time at the beginning, middle, and end of a semester (for students who begin in Term A only)

Finding More Private Scholarships

Other places to check include your high school guidance office, local library, local churches, local organizations (i.e., ELKS, VFW, American Legion), search engines and your local college financial aid office. *As a reminder, be cautious of websites or companies that require a fee to help you find scholarships.

Almost every student attending Cumberland received some form of financial aid. Some you have to pay back, but other aid such as scholarships and grants, do not require repayment. You have to re-apply for most loans and grants every year by filling out a FAFSA application – it’s not a one-time process.

Cumberland University makes no distinction in its financial aid policies or procedures on the grounds of age, sex, religion, color, national origin, or physical handicap.
